Naveen Patnaik Announces special package of Rs 300 crore for flood-hit farmers. Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Friday announced a special package of Rs 300 crore to provide relief to the flood affected farmers.
The Chief Minister’s Office has informed that small and marginal farmers will be provided an agricultural input subsidy which will not be less than Rs 2,000 for perennial crops and Rs 1,000 for other crops. Under the package, 20,000 dal seed mini kits will be provided to flood affected farmers.
Naveen Patnaik Announces special package of Rs 300 crore for flood-hit farmers | Demonstration programs of 60,000 acres of different crops will be conducted in the affected districts in the upcoming Rabi season. 2,000 pump sets will be provided with a 50% subsidy limited to a maximum of Rs 15,000. The CMO wrote in the release that 5,000 power sprayers will be available at a subsidy of 50 per cent to the flood-affected farmers, which will be limited to a maximum of Rs 3,000 for a battery powered sprayer and Rs 600 for a handheld sprayer.
